It is a carnivorous bird that primarily feeds on the dead animals.
They are commonly found in mountainous regions at elevations ranging from (1,200 -5,500) meters above sea level.
They are found in Nepal, India, Bhutan, China, and parts of Southeast Asia, ranging from northern Myanmar to northwestern Indonesia.
Its body plumage ranges from pale brown to dark brown, with a distinctive collar of white feathers around the neck.
